March 3rd, 2008, One Year Anniversary

On March 3rd, 2007 I pulled up to Folsom Street in Bernal Heights, San Francisco. Since then...

1. I've acclimated to California
2. Made friends
3. Figured out a better part of town for me (Pacific Heights)
4. Had success at work
5. Traveled back twice to Massachusetts, three times to Colorado, twice to New Mexico, once to Mississippi, Louisiana, countless times to Lake Tahoe and Nevada.
6. I've figured out a few things about working and living in the Silicon Valley environment (trust me, it's different here, there IS a learning curve)
7. I'm managing two ski cabins in Tahoe
8. I hosted 15 friends from Boston & elsewhere at Squaw for a week.
9. Bought as mountain Bike and have added that to my routine.
10. I run from Fort Mason to the Golden Gate Bridge and back a few times a week.
11. I 'Californi-cated' my truck with larger rims and tires.

Things I'm still working on:

1. Still have much more to learn about the Silicon Valley community
2. Still have to figure out California women, or rather, misunderstand them less.
3. Need to travel to more of Northern California. (Yosemite, Oregon, Mammoth Mountain, SoCal, Mendocino, Washington State, Bug Sur, many other cool places and festivals, too many to list.
4. Still need to visit more museums and experience more culture.
5. Need to ride a Cable Car
6. Need to see Alcatraz.

California agrees with me & I'm here to stay. I still miss everyone greatly back in Boston, but the opportunities here are too great to pass up.
